Home security – Jablotron and Ajax

What it is and what it does for your home

A security system guards both the entrances to your home and the spaces inside. If, while the alarm is set, a detector registers a door opening, a window breaking or movement, the control panel sounds the siren and immediately sends an alert to your phone – and, if you wish, to an alarm receiving centre, which can dispatch a response team.

The system does not have to guard against burglars only. Smoke, heat and flood detectors warn you of fire or a water leak even when the alarm is off and you are at home.

Jablotron and Ajax are among the most widely used home systems. Jablotron can be installed wirelessly, on a bus (wired) or as a combination, and is operated with a keypad, card, remote control or app. Ajax relies mainly on wireless devices with encrypted radio communication and is operated mostly from the app.

We choose the right system based on the layout of your home, how you use it and whether it is a new build or a retrofit without cutting into walls.

What the system can do and what it consists of

  • Control panelControls the whole system, evaluates signals from the detectors and sends alarms over the internet or the mobile network; it runs on a backup battery during a power cut.
  • Motion and opening detectorsGuard rooms, doors and windows; selected motion detectors can take a photo of the area during an alarm, so you can see what is happening.
  • Smoke, heat and flood detectorsWarn you of fire or a water leak whether or not the alarm is set.
  • SirensIndoor and outdoor sirens signal an alarm with sound and light and deter intruders.
  • ControlsA keypad by the entrance, access cards or tags, remote controls and a phone app with an overview of events.
  • Wired and wireless installationWired devices suit new builds, while wireless ones allow installation without cutting into walls; the two can also be combined.
  • Connection to a monitoring centreAlarms can be received by a 24/7 monitoring centre that verifies them, contacts you and dispatches a response if needed.
  • AutomationControl of gates, the garage, irrigation or heating – for example, turning the heating down when you set the alarm on leaving.
